August 2007 saw Shields United FC participate in the Northern Alliance Football League after successfully applying in January 2007.  Shields United are a club in transition with development our key aim both on and off the field.  The clubs first ever game was a pre-season friendly away to Berwick United where they played out a 4-4 draw.  The clubs first ever Northern Alliance fixture saw a 5-2 defeat to champions-to-be Cullercoats.  They currently sit 5th in the table after 6 months of hard work and are on course for a top 6th finish.
